Katherine IS my favorite skater!

I can's believe it. Katherine's dream is going to come true - her first figure skating competition is approaching.

It all started in Montreal when dad said "Hey girls, you dreamed of snow and ice - here they are. Why don't you fully enjoy it and do some stuff... like skating..."
First we all bought figure skates to skate at Park Lafontain. I truly enjoyed it with snow, lights and Christmas music it felt like fairy tale. We watched kids playing hockey at the park and daddy dreamed of a son to play hockey with.

Finally we found the Arena where you could skate a good quality ice during free public sessions or you could take figure skating lessons to become Joannie Rochette. Once Katherine saw girls doing axels she was all into it. So she started taking group lessons and moving from level to level until one day we decided to go private. Her progress skyrocketed since then.

She got her first professional skates for her birthday and was determined to compete one day. However it took her another year and a change of a coach and a country to find herself competing on the ice. When we moved to US I promised Katherine to find Arena here and let her continue with private lessons.

Ice Forum turned out the best place for this and Krystal was the best coach.
These two found each other. There's a special type of chemistry between them that makes a learning process fun. Katherine first applied for a competition in winter, she got seriously sick a few days before competition and had to drop out. She was desperate. You know this feeling when you really want something and do everything to get it and you totally sure you'll get it, but you won't because something unpredictable happens at the last moment... well, that's how Katherine felt that moment. She spent several days in tears and didn't want to listen that she would have another chance to compete later on.
See it yourself Katherine, today you are having this chance. It's May 02, 2010 and I hear your name pronounced in the speakerphone and I see you on the ice and a camera in my hands is shaking and tears are coming up to my eyes because I AM PROUD OF YOU.
You did it! Just look at my girl how powerful and gracious she is on the ice. You are skating like never before and I take my words back because you don't need test competition before you start winning. You are focused, your movements are clean and clear and you charm everybody with your ability to glide sooo smoothly.

YOU ARE THE WINNER!I am so pleased that your grannies and Boris are here to see you in your glory. Dad is giving you a big hug and we all are waiting for results. I know, I know it's just local competition where there are no losers, but there is so much more in it for you. It's your FIRST competition - the one that you will remember forever.
